iDML 3.2.3

The iDML app provides a tool for previewing document layouts and editing text within InDesign IDML files directly on your iPhone or iPad.

It displays the document's layout, including text content and embedded graphics, with support for some linked graphics when the app can resolve the links. Users can observe the exact placement of text frames, graphic frames, and linked objects. When a graphic is embedded, it appears in the preview as well.

The application enables users to access individual stories for reading and editing purposes. Stories can be selected either from a list or directly within the layout view. During editing, it is possible to apply any of the paragraph or character styles defined in the original document to selected text.

The app also provides a list of paragraph styles, character styles, fonts, and swatches utilized within the document.

It is important to note that no layout modifications are made to the original document during editing, and no data from third-party sources is processed. The app does not include InDesign's paragraph composer or advanced image processing capabilities. As a result, the preview may not offer a 1:1 representation of text positioning in InDesign and some vector graphic attributes might be simplified. Users should also consider that extensive edits to story content could necessitate reflowing in InDesign to prevent overset text or improper frame filling.
